Native GTK markdown notes with preview and automation

Swifty Notes is a native GTK/libadwaita Markdown notes application for Linux written in Swift.

The desktop app is the primary experience: write, organize, and preview Markdown notes with native GTK widgets, autosave, remembered workspace state, and adjustable editor settings such as font size, wrapping, indentation, and appearance.

The included CLI works on the same file-backed notes so shell scripts, automation, and AI agents can safely inspect or update notes without a separate database or background service.

Create, rename, duplicate, export, and delete Markdown notes.
Autosave edits, remember workspace state, and keep note-local image assets together with each note.
Adjust editor font size and other writing preferences to fit different screens and workflows.
Choose where notes are stored, including a cloud-synced folder, so the same plain files can stay in sync across devices.
Import images with drag and drop and render Markdown with a native GTK preview instead of a web view.
Write formulas in LaTeX and see them drawn natively in the preview, in note titles and in the outline.
Find your way through long notes with the outline panel, and find and replace text in the editor or the preview.
Format with the toolbar or keyboard shortcuts; lists, quotes and tables continue when you press Enter.

Swifty Notes now draws mathematical formulas, and writing and reading notes gets quicker.

Formulas written in LaTeX appear in the preview as real mathematics: put one between single dollar signs inside a sentence, or between double dollar signs on lines of their own. Fractions, roots, matrices, aligned equations and chemical formulas are drawn natively, and also in note titles, the outline and the breadcrumb. A formula that cannot be read shows its source instead.
Zoom the preview with Ctrl and the mouse wheel, and set its zoom and line spacing in Settings.
Choose whether Markdown files you open from your file manager start in the editor, side by side with the preview, or in the preview alone.
Pressing Enter in a list, a quote or a table continues it with the next item, line or row; pressing Enter on an empty one ends it.
Keyboard shortcuts for formatting: Ctrl+B bold, Ctrl+I italic, Ctrl+K link, Ctrl+E code, Ctrl+Shift+Q quote, Ctrl+Shift+L bulleted list and Ctrl+Shift+O numbered list.
A note containing a null character no longer opens empty, which could save over its text. The preview keeps its width beside the outline, and note titles with special characters show correctly in notifications.
The Snap package now includes the spell-checking library it needs to start.
