An interface to Digital Audio Players implementing Media Transfer Protocol with a focus on MTP features such as full metadata support, albums, and playlists.
This is especially useful for MP3 players that rely on the host computer to provide metadata for the device to display the information, such as artist or the track name.
Note that while Android devices use MTP, they do not use the metadata functionality. The packages bundled with the operating system are sufficient for browsing the files on Android.
Known issues:
UI still hangs during some MTP operations; the system will show a warning dialog about application not responding, but the app is working.
Please unmount your MTP device before using this app, otherwise gMTP will be unable to connect.
You can also disable GNOME automount with the following commands:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.media-handling automount false
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.media-handling automount-open false
