Scan settings that match your scanner, finding the diagnostic log, and one message that looks alarming and is not:
- Scan settings come from your scanner rather than from a list written in advance. 2.2.1 began asking your scanner what it supports and used the answer for the paper source, but the resolution and colour mode menus still offered the same choices to every device — and a scanner asked for a value it does not have refuses the whole scan. Each menu now lists what your scanner actually offers, and a setting it will not let you change is hidden rather than shown as a choice you cannot make. Where indiPDF cannot ask, the familiar choices remain.
- Help → Diagnostic Log. 2.2.2 added a diagnostic log but left you to work out how to switch it on and where it went — and the instructions we gave were wrong for anyone using the Flatpak, which runs sandboxed and does not inherit settings from the terminal that starts it. The new menu item tells you the exact path for your installation, whether anything is being recorded, and the command that works for the way you installed indiPDF.
- "Failed to load module xapp-gtk3-module" is explained in the help pages. This and similar Gtk-Message lines appear when any Flatpak application is started from a terminal on Linux Mint, which installs GTK modules a sandbox cannot see. They are harmless and there is nothing to install to stop them.
