Pods is a frontend for podman. It uses libadwaita for its user interface and strives to meet the design principles of GNOME.With Pods you can, among other things:<ul><li>Connect to local and remote Podman instances.</li><li>Easily overview images, containers and pods.</li><li>View prepared information about images, containers, and pods.</li><li>Inspect images, containers and pods.</li><li>View and search container logs.</li><li>Monitor processes of containers and pods.</li><li>Download images and build them using Dockerfiles.</li><li>Create pods and containers.</li><li>Control the lifecycle of containers and pods (in bulk) (start, stop, pause, etc.).</li><li>Delete images, containers, and pods (in bulk).</li><li>Prune images.</li><li>Rename containers.</li></ul>

Pods

The first point release of Pods contains the following fixes and style improvements:<ul><li>All remaining processes are now closed after a container terminal exits. (#744)</li><li>Separators in the sidebar now are no longer navigatable. (Part of #757)</li><li>The focus indicator of selection mode toggle buttons is now a circle instead of an ellipse. (Part of #757)</li><li>Streams are now closed correctly so that they do not run forever when the user changes the connection. (#764)</li></ul>

This is the first stable release of Pods 2.0 and includes the following changes:<ul><li>Some problems with AdwBreakpoints in the container detail view have been fixed.</li><li>The release notes are now marked as not translatable.</li><li>Some maintenance work and code cleanups have been carried out.</li></ul>

This is just a small follow-up bugfix release that fixes an incorrect screenshot path.

This is the the first beta release of Pods 2.0 with the following new features:<ul><li>The user interface has been extensively revised. Among other things, a sidebar is now used.</li><li>Pods now uses many new widgets from libadwaita 1.4.</li><li>It is now possible to manage volumes in Pods.</li></ul>

Pods 1.2.1 contains the following bugfixes and improvements:<ul><li>Fixed a bug that caused the application to crash when the keyring could not be accessed.</li><li>Some languages like Romanian were not correctly included. This should be fixed now.</li><li>Fixed a regression where the container list was not re-sorted once a container was renamed.</li><li>Minor cleanup work has been done in the code.</li></ul>

Pods 1.2.0 contains the following new features:<ul><li>Usabilty and UX has been improved in many places.</li><li>Pruning of containers and pods is now possible.</li><li>Container terminals are now detachable and can be used in parallel.</li><li>Images can be pushed to a registry.</li><li>The CPU utilization now takes the number of cores into account.</li></ul>

Pods 1.1.0 contains the following features, bug fixes and improvements:<ul><li>Dependencies have been updated. This includes the update to GNOME 44 libraries.</li><li>AdwBanner is now used in the container log page instead of GtkInfoBar.</li><li>The GNOME Coc is acknowledged in the README.md.</li><li>The main window and all dialogs can now be closed with Ctrl+W.</li><li>The memory icon has been improved, thanks to @daudix-UFO.</li><li>Internal code improvements have landed, like the port to glib-rs' new properties proc macro.</li><li>Translations have been updated.</li></ul>

Pods 1.1.0-beta.4 contains the following features, bug fixes and improvements:<ul><li>The connection color is now displayed by means of a colored dot in front of the connection name in the connection overview, instead of a vertical bar at the beginning.</li><li>The penguin icon to the left of the Podman version has been removed from the status bar.</li><li>The Podman menu button in the status bar now shows a loading indicator until the Podman version is determined.</li><li>The label to show the version of the Podman menu button in the status bar now uses the &lt;em&gt;numeric&lt;/em&gt; style class, which looks more harmonious.</li><li>To eliminate the blur, the icons in the status bar now all have a size of 16 pixels instead of 12 pixels.</li><li>The desktop entry now uses the updated short description as comment.</li><li>Some appropriate categories have been added to the desktop entry.</li><li>Fixed a bug where the Id of a container was replaced by the name once the name of the container was changed.</li><li>The container status &lt;em&gt;configured&lt;/em&gt; was not handled before. This is now fixed.</li><li>The spinner within the container log page did not disappear earlier if the log was empty. This is fixed now.</li><li>The code has been improved in some places.</li><li>Translations have been updated.</li><li>Dependencies have been updated.</li></ul>

Pods 1.1.0-beta.3 contains the following features, bug fixes and improvements:<ul><li>The connection menu has received an entry for disconnecting the current Podman connection.</li><li>The status bar now has a menu button that shows the current Podman version.</li><li>The menu item to open the Podman information window has been moved from the main menu to the Podman menu in the status bar.</li><li>A new widget has been implemented that allows you to control the zoom level of text.</li><li>On all pages with text, such as the inspection page, the download button has been moved to a menu in the header bar together with the zoom control widget.</li><li>On the container log page some buttons together with zoom control widget are moved to a menu in the header bar.</li><li>The text in the container terminal can now be zoomed.</li><li>Fixed a bug in the container log page where an explicit color was set for the default ANSI escape sequence. This resulted in text not being readable in the light theme under certain circumstances.</li><li>The text views, like the Inspection page, are now closed immediately if there is an error. For example, this would be the case if the cube YAML could not be generated.</li><li>Translations have been updated.</li><li>Dependencies have been updated.</li></ul>

Pods 1.1.0-beta.2 contains the following features, bug fixes and improvements:<ul><li>It is now possible to assign colors to connections. Then, when the connection is active, the status bar is colored accordingly.</li><li>The progress bar in the status bar has been replaced by a label.</li><li>The formatting of the container log is now correctly kept across lines.</li><li>Some strings has been marked as translatable that where previously forgotten.</li><li>Some strings has been changed to be more accurate.</li><li>A workaround and a fix have been implemented specifically for crashes that led to crashes when using podman 3.0.</li><li>Fixed a style bug that caused the inner scrollbar on the connection selection page to have an offset.</li><li>Translations have been updated.</li><li>Dependencies have been updated.</li></ul>

Pods 1.1.0-beta.1 contains the following features, bug fixes and improvements:<ul><li>The fonts in all text views, such as those in the inspection pages, are now scalable using typical shortcuts.</li><li>It is now prevented that actions in subpages like the container inspection subpage can be triggered via shortcuts (e.g. the action to download files).</li><li>More ANSI escape sequences like background colors and bright colors has been added to the container log page.</li><li>Fixed a bug that caused some containers to not display most log lines.</li><li>The name of the container is now also displayed as a subtitle in the health check page.</li><li>The README file has been updated and improved.</li><li>There were a lot of internal improvements to the code.</li><li>Translations have been updated.</li><li>Dependencies have been updated.</li></ul>

Pods 1.0.2 contains the following changes:<ul><li>The search behavior has been adjusted so that pressing &lt;em&gt;Ctrl+F&lt;/em&gt; again resets the search and that &lt;em&gt;Escape&lt;/em&gt; closes it.</li><li>The application icon and symbolic icons have been further improved, thanks to @daudix-UFO.</li><li>Translations have been updated.</li></ul>

The stable 1.0 release of Pods includes the following changes since the last RC:<ul><li>The welcome page now has a very attractive, colorful illustration, thanks to @daudix-UFO.</li><li>Switching the Podman connection now no longer blocks the GUI.</li><li>Creating new Podman connections can now be canceled during the connection attempt.</li><li>Copying and pasting text from/to the container terminal now works with &lt;em&gt;Ctrl+Shift+C&lt;/em&gt; and &lt;em&gt;Ctrl+Shift+V&lt;/em&gt;, respectively.</li><li>The container terminal now has a simple context menu.</li><li>The animation of the internal spinner widget has been beautified.</li><li>Translations have been updated.</li><li>Dependencies have been updated.</li></ul>

The third 1.0 release candidate of Pods contains the following changes:<ul><li>The application icon and symbolic icons have been improved, thanks to @daudix-UFO</li><li>Actions, such as creating a container, can now be repeated initially if they fail.</li><li>Fixed a bug that prevented the label displaying the id of an image from being striked through if the image was being deleted.</li><li>Repository tags are now selectable within the image details page.</li><li>Translations have been updated. Thanks to all who contributed.</li><li>Internal code improvements have been made, such as reducing dependencies and enabling LTO for release builds.</li></ul>

This is a hotfix release that prevents the application from crashing when disconnected from Podman.

All features for version 1.0 are now implemented and Pods is thus in the release candidate phase. Among the changes since the last release are:<ul><li>Actions such as downloading an image or creating a container now take place in dialogs instead of in the main window.</li><li>Image Rows have been revised to better reflect the presence of multiple repo tags.</li><li>Repo tags can now be removed and added within the image details page.</li><li>The subtitle property of the header bars is now used to display the image id, or the name of the container or pod.</li><li>The style of the container details page has been adjusted. Thus, some action rows have been moved to the properties.</li><li>Shortcuts have been added to the container details page.</li><li>Small improvements in the spirit of the GNOME HIG took place.</li><li>The usual changes such as improving the source code and updating the dependencies.</li><li>Translations have been updated and all translatable strings are now considered frozen.</li></ul>

The ninth beta of Pods in an important step towards the stable first version. It contains the following changes:<ul><li>It is now possible to have a terminal in a container.</li><li>As one works with the terminal and views text in the form of logs or inspection data, the theme selector has been reintroduced. This is provided by , which should simplify maintenance.</li><li>The dialog for renaming a container is now based on .</li><li>The style of the container series was tweaked in many ways.</li><li>Some minor internal code improvements have landed.</li><li>Dependencies and translations have been updated.</li></ul>

The eight beta release of Pods 1.0.0 includes the following changes:<ul><li>Pods now uses the library to display a status bar. Thus, notifications and the name of the Podman connection are always visible.</li><li>When creating a new connection, there is now a hint on how to enable the Podman UNIX socket and a small example on how to use the Podman root instance.</li><li>The history of an image can now be inspected.</li><li>The design of the port bindings in the container details page has been revised.</li><li>Kubernetes YAML files can now be generated for containers and pods.</li><li>Files can now be downloaded from a container as well as uploaded to a container.</li><li>The design of the circular progress bar for displaying container resources has been adjusted to be more consistent with the rest of the application.</li><li>There is now a rotating animation when a container or pod is in a state transition (start, stop, pause).</li><li>If a container is in a pod, it will now get a badge with the pod name in the container list.</li><li>Logs, the result of the inspection of images, containers, and pods, and the result Kubernetes YAML generation can now be saved directly as a file.</li><li>Headerbar titles were adjusted to be shorter and more concise</li><li>Many minor internal code improvements habe landed</li><li>Dependencies and translations have been updated.</li></ul>

The seventh beta release of Pods 1.0.0 includes the following changes:<ul><li>Relative times are now used everywhere in the application. For example, you can quickly see how long a container has been running or how many days ago an image was created.</li><li>For the circular progress bar in the container row, icons are now used instead of text. Icons have also been added to the resource monitor in the container details page.</li><li>The text field for searching in the container logs and the inspection page has been completely redesigned visually.</li><li>The container log page now displays an info bar if the container is not running. The info bar also offers the possibility to start or resume the container.</li><li>Desktop notifications are now triggered on actions.</li><li>The selection of an image in the container creation page has been improved. For example, the list of images is sorted and image names are no longer ellipsized.</li><li>Also the selection of a pod in the container creation page has been improved similarly to the image selection.</li><li>The image row now shows the tag of an image in the accent color to the right of the image id.</li><li>The container row now displays the mapped host port of a container next to the container name, if there is one.</li><li>Port Bindings in the container details page are now shown inside an AdwExpanderRow</li><li>The multi-selection mode of images, containers and pods is now animated a bit more nicely.</li><li>The sizes of all GtkSpinners have been standardized throughout the application.</li><li>The gtk-rs library was updated to version 0.5, which made many internal code improvements possible.</li><li>As always, there were a number of minor bug fixes, visual improvements, internal code improvements, and translation updates that have not been mentioned here.</li></ul>

The sixth beta release of Pods 1.0.0 includes the following changes:<ul><li>The duration for individual actions such as downloading an image is now displayed.</li><li>In the overview for all images, individual images can now be updated via the context menu.</li><li>Missing settings for creating pods have been added, thanks to @vv9k.</li><li>A simple progress bar is now displayed in the action menu button under the bell icon to indicate how many actions are currently running.</li><li>The icon of the button to return to the main view has been changed to a home symbol, thanks to @vv9k.</li><li>The container details page and pod details page have been revised: The menus have been removed and instead there is now a control bar.</li><li>Renaming a container within a container detail page must now be done via a button in the name row.</li><li>Fixed a bug in the container log page that caused that no more than 512 log lines could be loaded and date were truncated.</li><li>The progress bars for CPU and memory in the container details page are now animated.</li><li>The animations of the circular progress bars for CPU and memory in the overview of all containers now use better easing.</li><li>The icons and descriptions for actions like downloading an image have been made clearer.</li><li>Committing a new image from a container can now be done in a fine-grained way, in a dedicated page.</li><li>As always, there were a number of minor bug fixes, visual improvements, internal code improvements and translation updates.</li></ul>

The fifth beta release of Pods 1.0.0 includes the following changes:<ul><li>Some typos were fixed, thanks to @kianmeng.</li><li>A tab to specify infra settings were added to the pod creation page, thanks to @vv9k.</li><li>There is now a widget that provides an overview of actions, such as building an image. Here comes the fourth beta release of Pods 1.0.0 with the following changes:<ul><li>The blurry symbolic application icon has been fixed, thanks to @allaeddineomc.</li><li>A status page is now displayed if there are no images, containers or pods.</li><li>The style has been improved, in particular, there is now better differentiation between light, dark and high contrast modes.</li><li>The feature for coloring the header bar has been removed.
