MediaInfo is a convenient unified display of the most relevant technical and tag data for video and audio files.
      The MediaInfo data display includes :
      
        Container: format, profile, commercial name of the format, duration, overall bit rate, writing application and library, title, author, director, album, track number, date, duration...
        Video: format, codec id, aspect, frame rate, bit rate, color space, chroma subsampling, bit depth, scan type, scan order...
        Audio: format, codec id, sample rate, channels, bit depth, language, bit rate...
        Text: format, codec id, language of subtitle...

MOV MetaEdit is a tool that supports the embedding and editing of metadata in MOV (Apple QuickTime) or MP4 (ISO/IEC 14496-14 a.k.a. MPEG-4 Part 14) files.It is currently focused on Universal Ad ID metadata but could be expanded on request.Sponsored by Ad-ID; designed, led and fully developed by MediaArea.

AVI MetaEdit is a tool that supports embedding, validating, and exporting of metadata in AVI files.This tool can also enforce file structure and metadata recommendations and specifications from U.S. National Archives, Microsoft, and IBM.Initially funded by NARA (National Archives and Records Administration) supported by the FADGI; designed and led by AVPreserve; developed by MediaArea.

Quality Control Tools for Video Preservation

DV Analyzer is a technical quality control and reporting tool that examines DV streams in order to report errors in the tape-to-file transfer process, such as video error concealment information, invalid audio samples, timecode inconsistency, inconsistent use of arbitrary bits in video DIF blocks, and DIF structural problems. DV Analyzer also reports on patterns within DV streams such as changes in DV time code, changes in recording date and time markers, first and last frame markers within individual recordings, and more.Initially funded, designed and led by AVPreserve; developed by MediaArea.

BWF MetaEdit was developed by the Federal Agencies Digitization Guidelines Initiative (FADGI) supported by AudioVisual Preservation Solutions.This tool permits embedding, editing, and exporting of metadata in Broadcast WAVE Format (BWF) files. This tool can also enforce metadata guidelines developed by the Federal Agencies Audio-Visual Working Group, as well as recommendations and specifications from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), Microsoft, and IBM.
