Removing the trial watermark once you have bought a licence, converting many documents at once, editing a paragraph, and printing on Windows:
- Take the trial watermark off, once you have a licence. A document saved during the trial carries a watermark, and until now that was permanent — buying indiPDF stopped new ones appearing but did nothing for files already stamped. Licensed copies can now remove it, and remove all of it: the mark on the page, the link to our shop, and the note in the document's properties. On documents watermarked by 2.2 or later this is exact; files stamped by an earlier version are matched on the words they are drawn with, which indiPDF says plainly is a good match rather than a certain one before it touches anything.
- Batch Convert: do one thing to a lot of documents. Choose files or a whole folder, pick what to turn them into — Word, Writer, Excel, Calc, plain text or a compressed PDF — and choose where the results go. Each is converted on its own, so one damaged file is reported against its own name and the rest carry on. Nothing already in the destination folder is replaced; a name that clashes is numbered.
- Edit a whole paragraph at once. Editing a word covers it and draws a replacement on top, which works until the replacement is longer than what it replaced and runs past the margin, because the line never re-breaks. Right-clicking text now offers "Edit Whole Paragraph", which re-breaks it. Where the result needs more room than the paragraph had, a message says how many lines over it is rather than letting it overflow unnoticed.
- Printing works on Windows. Printing to a chosen printer asked Windows to hand the file to whatever program is registered to print PDFs, and a great many machines have none — Edge is the usual default PDF handler and does not register itself for printing. Printing now goes through Ghostscript, which is already included and talks to the print spooler directly.
- Errors say what went wrong. A failure from inside indiPDF was shown with nothing after the colon — "Error printing:" and no reason. Repair, OCR, compression, encryption, signing and scanning were all affected in the same way, not only printing.
- Drop-down fields show what is selected in them. One with nothing chosen showed an empty box rather than the "Select" prompt, and one chosen and saved showed empty too, though the file was correct and other readers displayed the choice. The same fault silently discarded a drop-down's selection when it was opened in the form-field editor.
- The watermark note in a document's properties is cleared properly. The marker indiPDF leaves to stop a document being watermarked twice was written in one text encoding and read back in another, so it was never recognised in a file indiPDF had saved.
