DXF imports flatten Z coordinates, community addons are
marked and confirmed before installing, a new OMTech SH-G570
device profile, and file chooser errors are surfaced
New Features:
- DXF: imports are flattened onto the Z=0 plane by
default. 3D CAD exports often contain a part's outlines at
two Z heights (top and bottom face of the stock), and the
surviving Z values made the head plunge below the material
surface mid-job. When the drawing spans more than one Z
height, the import dialog offers a "Flatten Z Coordinates"
switch under Import Mode (on by default); turning it off
keeps the original Z heights and shows a warning banner.
Flat drawings show no new UI, and the choice survives
re-import and project reload (#646)
- Addons: addons not provided by the Rayforge team get a
dedicated icon in the addon registry and the installed
addons list, and installing one asks for confirmation
first, naming its author and linking to its repository so
the code can be reviewed. This applies to registry
installs, premium addon unlocks, and manual URL installs
(#647)
- Devices: a built-in profile for the OMTech SH-G570
(80W CO2 laser cutter, 700 x 500 mm work area, Ruida
controller) (#641, by neostar)
Bug Fixes:
- UI: file chooser errors are surfaced instead of failing
silently. When the chooser cannot open at all - e.g. in the
flatpak sandbox when the host's xdg-desktop-portal
FileChooser is missing or broken - clicking Import or Open
did nothing, with no log output and no UI feedback; real
failures are now reported through each context's existing
channel: main window toast, wizard error dialog, or the
surrounding dialog's toast/error label (#649)
- Machine: the machine creation wizard prefills saved
driver settings that are zero; previously only truthy
values were restored, so a profile value of 0.0 (e.g. the
OMTech SH-G570's image power bias) was replaced by the
driver default (#641)
- Windows: sdist builds work again; pyo3 0.29 embeds the
library name python3.dll directly into abi3 import tables,
and MSYS2's mingw Python ships libpython3.dll but no
python3.dll, so raygeo failed to import with "DLL load
failed while importing raygeo" (raygeo 1.67.3) (#650)
